Toilet Museum or Haewoojae in Suwon, South Korea was built in 2007 by the first president of the World Toilet Association Sim Jae-duck also known as Mr Toilet, in which he lived until his death in 2009. The toilet park officially opened on 4 July 2012. It is a 2-story building (4,508 square feet) built in the shape of a giant loo. This museum displays toilet-themed works of art, European chamber pots and historical urinals shaped like little four-legged creatures with a round hole in place of a face, squat toilets, photographs of public toilets, information about the importance of sanitary bathroom facilities and lavatory (toilet) signs from around the globe. Sim’s own high-tech toilet is available to visitors which has a transparent door that clouds over when the facilities are in use. There is even a gift shop selling souvenirs, which include smiley-faced poop-shaped toys.
Grand Guitar in Bristol, Tennessee is the world’s only guitar shaped music and gift shop which was built in 1983. It is a 70-foot long building which is 3-stories tall. The guitar’s sound holes and neck inlay are its windows, and its strings are made of nylon rope. It houses collection of instruments including guitars, ukuleles, lap steels, resonator guitars, banjos, mandolins, dulcimers, auto harps and violins. It also functions as a museum where people can view instruments on display and see memorabilia from performers.
The Big Pineapple in Bathurst, South Africa is a nearly 55-feet tall building and world’s tallest pineapple located on the Summerhill Estate pineapple plantation. It has three floors which hold a 60-seat auditorium, a gift shop selling pineapple products, a museum dedicated to citrus, and a 360º observation deck. It is made from steel and concrete with a fibre glass outer skin.
National Fisheries Development Office in Hyderabad, India is a 4-story building in the shape of a gigantic fish which was constructed in 2012. Entrance to the building is beneath a silver fin and its belly is the place where work is done to expand technology for India’s fisheries and aquaculture.
Meitan Tea Museum in China is a building in the shape of a gigantic tea pot, with an added tea cup next to it. It is 73.8 meters long and has a maximum diameter of 24 meters. It has been constructed as a commemoration to tea industry of China and is dedicated to all things related to tea. It also includes a hotel where tourists can enjoy tea.
